Consortium Nepal successfully organized an Orientation meeting on local level planning process for members of the National Child Advocate Council (NCAC) on 14 May 2026 through online, facilitated by Kiran Thapa, former past president of Consortium Nepal, to strengthen children’s participation in local governance and development planning. The interactive session introduced participants to Nepal’s local planning and budgeting process, the legal frameworks supporting child participation, and the role of Bal Bhela as a child-led consultation platform for identifying priorities and influencing local plans and budgets. Through discussions and experience sharing, NCAC members enhanced their understanding of advocacy, gained knowledge to engage with local governments, and reinforced their commitment to ensuring that children’s voices are meaningfully reflected in policies, programs, and decision-making processes.
