Submission of Voluntary National Review Report to National Planning Commission

Child Representative proudly submitted the child-led Voluntary National Review (VNR) report to the Hon. Member of the National Planning Commission. This document, driven by the voices and perspectives of our Children, is set to be shared at the upcoming High-Level Political Forum in New York.

The Voluntary National Review (VNR) reports is crucial document that evaluates a country’s progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report was submitted to the National Planning Commission (NPC), reflecting the nation’s commitments and efforts. The consultations were conducted at both local and national levels. There was involvement of children from all seven provinces on behalf of whole children. The key findings of the consultations were related to education, health, climate change as well as child labor and child marriage. Children highlighted the importance of quality education, child friendly school, school dropout as well as ensuring access to education to all. They also added about the necessity of improvement in infrastructure and revision of school curriculums. Children also expressed about the strong focus on environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable development. Children focus more on environmental issues that is harming every child. Children mentioned about the child marriage and child labor due to the low level of income in family. All these issues were compile in the Child Led VNR report and submitted to National Planning Commission for further action. The VNR report includes specific recommendations from children, ensuring their perspectives which are integrated into national policies and programs. The submission of the VNR report to the National Planning Commission marks a significant step in the ongoing commitment to the SDGs.  The report serves as a roadmap for the future actions to meet the needs and requirement of children.
