On 20–21 January 2026, Consortium Nepal organized a Training on Child-Sensitive Journalism for 14 journalists from national, online, print, and photo media to strengthen their capacity for ethical, rights-based reporting on children’s issues. Facilitated by Dr. Kundan Aryal and Mr. Tarak Dhital, the training focused on child rights, child participation, media ethics, safeguarding, and relevant legal frameworks, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Constitution of Nepal, and the Children’s Act. Through presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants explored responsible reporting during elections, child-sensitive storytelling, and the importance of protecting children’s dignity, privacy, and best interests in media coverage. The training enhanced participants’ understanding of child-sensitive journalism, reinforced their commitment to ethical reporting, and encouraged greater coverage of child-led initiatives and children’s issues
